Message from the President
Spring is fast approaching, hope you
all made it up to the cottage for at least one obligatory weekend this winter.
Those who did, know that there was lots of snow. It may well mean another
change in the water level this summer. But then again, since water level seems
to be primarily a result of whims and dream interpretation, it may not.
The amalgamation issue continues.
Rick Zanussi can provide a more comprehensive update, but suffice it to say
that there has not been much progress. Which in our case is good news, and
gives us all the more time to affect an amalgamation plan that we can live
with.
Your executive will be trying
something new this winter, meeting my teleconference. Teleconferencing allows
us to be more inclusive of those members from far afield. So, for all you folks
who were holding back on joining the executive because you were not sure you
could make the meetings, so dissolves your last excuse.
We are in great need of people who
can even just take on small responsibilities. Specifically, we could assistance
in accomplishing the following tasks:
-
contacting local businesses and
services regarding discounts for members.
-
Co-ordinating the SCA merchandise to
be sold at the AGM.
-
Increasing our membership
-
co-ordinating fire pump system
Anyone wanting to submit articles to
the newsletter is welcome to do so. Robin Argenta’s e mail address has changed,
however. She can now be reached at robinleo@vaxxine.com
Hope you all have a great spring. We
will see you on the bay after the thaw.
